UNSEEN WONDERS
The 1960’s and 70's were a time of enormous change, with the Scotch whisky industry experiencing huge structural upheaval. When opened, Ladyburn distillery was declared a remarkable technological advance, but within a decade it had closed. This was a thrilling period when times were changing culturally, with progressive art in all its forms taking centre stage.
Ladyburn’s identity remains a reflection of its history. Almost invisible. A ghost. But also a platform to showcase all the excitement and dynamism of the period when the whisky was distilled; a time of optimism and great change. Each Ladyburn Edition partners one of its rare remaining casks with unseen or rediscovered work from an iconic artist, each carefully curated to adorn each of the strictly limited and numbered bottles.
“It occupies a very special place in the pantheon of Scottish whisky… People talk about rarity, there is nothing rarer than something that will one day pass literally from the face of the earth.”
